What is a Monotype Print Anyway?

As many of you know, I'm in an upcoming group show in Santa Cruz, CA at the Felix Kulpa Gallery called "Kulpability".  (See previous post).  It opens this Friday, April 3, 2009! Whooo Hoo!

I have two monotypes in the show. One is framed and the other is just mounted and will be available in the print rack. But some of you may be wondering what is a monotype print anyway.

Well, monotypes are essentaly printed paintings. Each print is one of a kind and therefore original.

Below I include a good video on how monotypes are made and depicts a well known artist, Arthur Secunda working with master printers.
