Paperworks ME II Juried Exhibit
Lake Eustis Museum of Art
Dec. 10, 2010– Jan. 10, 2011
Opening Reception: Friday, December 10, 2010. 6-9 pm.
Both my submissions, "Universe 7" and "XYZ Vector Key" were selected for the exhibition. I will discuss them in detail in the next two posts.
Use of paper was the primary element required for entries in PAPER WORKS 4 ME II. Artists working in any media – painting, sculpture, assemblage, photography, cutting, art books and more – were invited to submit.
The Paperworks 4 ME II annual national competition was juried by Ryan Burkhart, co-founder of Firsthand Editions in Charlotte, N.C. Burkhart is an internationally recognized visual artist, collaborator and publisher. He serves as Editorial Arts Coordinator for Southern Review Magazine. Burkhart directed Flying Horse Editions Fine Arts Research Press at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, from 2001 – ’08, where he collaborated with other international artists to create fine prints and art books.
Burkhart’s art has twice been featured in New American Paintings magazine and is in collections at Brown University; Yale University; The Ashville Museum of Art; Sungkok Museum of Art in Seoul, Korea and The Royal Academy of Art, Antwerp, Belgium. He has been artist-in-residence at Frans Masareel Center for Printmaking, Kasterlee, Belgium and at Seacourt Print Center, Bangor, North Ireland. His work is exhibited widely in the Southeast, the nation and the world.
