What's the Story Behind This Painting?

Back in 2011,  I was selected to participate in an event called Painting the Region-Color the coast in Northeast Florida. The above painting, "The Marsh" is a scene executed outside the Mayport  Naval Base in Jacksonville, Fl.  I painted it the same day and in the same location, I painted, "Sunset".

I finally got the painting just as I had enough of the bugs and as the sun went down. I didn't want to see what comes out at night in that little marsh so I hauled tail! LOL!
